Welcome to San Diego Mensa

Thank you for joining San Diego Mensa! We want to make sure to provide you with the best member experience possible. Here are some important resources to enable you to start enjoying our activities and other membership benefits right away:

Social networks

One of the best and most convenient ways to stay in the loop on San Diego Mensa activities, and to connect with other members, is through our Facebook groups, of which there are three:

(The Gifted Youth group is also open to parents of Gifted Youth members.)
We also have a Twitter feed: @sandiegomensa

Website

Our website gives you instant access to our event calendar, our list of SIGs and activities, our member services directory, and lots of other useful information to help you find what you are looking for with San Diego Mensa.

Newsletter

The San Diego MENSAN is our locally published newsletter. In addition to having a calendar and list of events and SIGs, you will find articles on a variety of brainy topics and mind-boggling puzzles. Click here for newsletter

SIGs

A core feature of Mensa is the Special Interest Group, or SIG. SIGs provide the opportunity to participate in activities with people who share your interests. We have SIGs for science, investing, biking, and more! Anyone in Mensa can start a SIG, and there are dozens of SIGs in San Diego, listed both on our website and in our newsletter.

SIGHT

Mensa’s Service of Information, Guidance and Hospitality to Travelers is active in San Diego and most other local groups around the world. The service is designed to help traveling Mensans to connect with other Mensans to find out about local events, to socialize, and sometimes even to share a table or spare a couch. It is one of Mensa’s unique benefits of membership. Click here for SIGHT page

Gifted Youth

The Gifted Youth program is open to both minor members of Mensa and the minor children of members. The group meets monthly at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, a great place for kids to socialize with each other while exploring the museum’s interactive exhibits, and for the parents to share stories and exchange information about Gifted Youth-related issues. For more information, email GiftedChild

Young Ms

Otherwise known as the Gen X/Gen Y SIG, this group conducts events to provide Mensa’s young adults an opportunity to meet one another and socialize. For more information, email GenY

Again, thank you for joining us at San Diego Mensa. We hope that you will decide to attend some of our events, check out our website and newsletter, and join one of our Facebook groups! We look forward to meeting you!
